The El Dorado Irrigation District is seeking contractors to rehabilitate a 2.8 million-gallon tank in Placerville, CA.
Bids are due May 22. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held Tuesday (May 13).
Scope of Work
Interior surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a White Metal finish (SSPC-SP 5). Surfaces above the high water line will receive a two-component epoxy coating.

Bids are being sought for the rehabilitation of a 2.8 million-gallon tank in Placerville, CA.

All interior surfaces below the high water line will be lined with an epoxy system, including walls, floor, pipe penetrations, ladders, and appurtenances. Before coating, all linings will require full curing and disinfecting using liquid sodium hypochlorite disinfectant.
Exterior surfaces, including the entire roof, wall and piping, will be pressure-washed to remove organic growths and loose paint; then abrasive blast-cleaned to a Commercial Finish (SSPC-SP 6). The steel will be coated with an epoxy-urethane system.
The project also includes center cone top plate replacement, rafter end repairs, roof vent replacement, handrail installation, drain penetrations and valves, and installation of a new sampling station and sample piping.
About the Structure
The steel tank is one of five storage reservoirs, two treatment plants, and five pump stations owned by the El Dorado Irrigation District. The El Dorado Hills water treatment plant has been in operation since early 1973, when it processed six million gallons of water daily. Together, the two plants now produce more than one billion gallons of recycled water every year.
