Corrio Construction submitted the winning bid to secure the contract for the repair and interior lining of the Perry’s Hollow Reservoir in Salt Lake City.

Bidding closed Jan. 15.

Scope of Work

The project will involve cleaning and coating the interior of the existing concrete reservoir, as well as performing miscellaneous repairs.

Interior surfaces will be cleaned using a wash solution to aid in the removal of soluble salt contamination. All laitance, contamination and curing compounds will require removal by shot blasting, grit blasting or other approved methods. All existing materials will be removed prior to coating and only well-bonded coatings may remain.

The contractor will then coat the 6,900 square feet of interior concrete surfaces using either a solvent-free, two-component, elastomeric urethane or a 100 percent solid aromatic polyurea coating formulated for seamless, waterproof and abrasion-resistant surfaces.

The brand specified for the elastomeric urethane is CIM Industries, and the brand specified for polyurea is Specialty Products Inc., with equals being considered for approval.

Work will also include abrasive blast-cleaning of the exterior inlet/outlet pipe followed by an epoxy coating.

Roof cracks will require application of a methacrylate sealant.

Other repairs include roof slab repair, interior and exterior improvements, interior pipe replacements, and safety or access improvements.
