OH Contractor Wins $2.3M Bridge Job

A Campbell, OH, contractor has been awarded the contract to clean and paint the bridge that carries US 62 over the Green River in Ohio County, KY.

Adelphi Inc., doing business as G Force Contracting, was selected by by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as the apparent low bidder with the awarded amount of $2,299,387.60. The company beat out seven other bidders.

Scope of Work

The contractor will oversee cleaning and recoating of structural steel surfaces on the existing 1,839.4 foot three-span cantilevered Warren through truss bridge carrying US 62 over the Green River in Rockport, KY.

Adelphi Inc., dba G Force Contracting, beat out seven other bidders for the cleaning and painting of the bridge that carries US 62 over the Green River in Kentucky.

Steel will require abrasive blast-cleaning to Near White (SSPC-SP 10) and coating with a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Class II, Type I or II, three-coat urethane-based organic zinc-rich system. Approved Class II manufacturers include Carboline, PPG, Sherwin-Williams, International Paint, Wasser, Environmental Protective Coatings, and Town and Ranch.

The contractor will be responsible for performing quality control coatings inspection services, including provision of an SSPC C-3 individual to oversee waste handling.

Existing coatings may contain lead. Contractors will oversee Class 2A containment according to SSPC-Guide 6.
