On Wednesday, Jan. 16, Paint BidTracker marked its 10th anniversary with an afternoon gala at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX.

Over 75 subscribers and friends of the construction reporting service came together to celebrate the milestone over appetizers and drinks while in town for SSPC 2013 featuring GreenCOAT.

Paint BidTracker celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party during SSPC 2013 in San Antonio, TX.

The annual conference and exhibition offered four days of training, education and networking for protective, marine, industrial and commercial coatings professionals.

Guests were welcomed by Paint BidTracker General Manager Brian Churray, who recognized staff members who typically work behind the scenes.

"We're proud to have served the coatings industry for the past 10 years, and we are looking forward to many more," said Churray. "We wouldn't be where we were today without our loyal customers and the contributions of our tenacious researchers and innovative developers."

He also added that the company is grateful to SSPC for their role in keeping Paint BidTracker connected to the coatings industry.

Photo Award and Prizes

Anita Socci, managing editor of the Journal of Protective Coatings and Linings, presented a plaque to the winner of Paint BidTracker's 10th Anniversary Photo Contest, which was co-sponsored by JPCL.

Anita Socci of JPCL presented a plaque to Anthony Schoenecker, winner of Paint BidTracker's photo contest.

The winner, Anthony Schoenecker, a field services engineer and inspector of Modjeski and Masters in New Orleans, LA, also received an Olympus TG-1 iHS camera and complimentary tickets to SSPC 2013 as part of the prize package.

Shoenecker's winning photo of the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia was taken using the same type of camera he had won, prompting Socci to joke, "So you won't be needing this one, right?"

Party guests were also entered into a raffle to win a fourth generation Apple iPad with retina display, and non-subscribers who signed up for a free trial at the show were included in a drawing for a free, 10-week subscription to Paint BidTracker.

Chris Lynn of W-S Industrial Services won the 10-week subscription, and Tom Scurlock of ITW Polyspec Futura won the iPad; the winners were drawn by Julie Birch, marketing manager for Technology Publishing, parent company of Paint BidTracker, PaintSquare and Durability+Design.
