$4M Bridge Painting Project Out for Bid

Bids are being accepted for cleaning and coating work on the 1,978-foot-long Simpson Avenue Bridge over the Hoquiam River in Grays Harbor County, WA

Bids are due March 25. The Washington State Department of Transportation estimates the project at between $3 million and $4 million.

Scope of Work

Last painted in 1992, the steel framework of the 87-year-old structure will be cleaned and recoated.

Bids are due March 25 for cleaning and coating of the Simpson Avenue Bridge in Grays Harbor County, WA.

Steel surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near-White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and coated using a five-coat, moisture-cured urethane system.

Existing coatings contain lead; containment will be required.

Constructed in 1928, the Simpson Avenue Bridge can be found on the National Register of Historical Places.
