Scope of Work
Surfaces will be prepared with an approved cleaning solvent and wiped dry. Exterior surfaces will be cleaned by low-pressure waterjet to SSPC-SP WJ 4 standards and spot power-tool cleaned to SSPC-SP 3.
Existing coatings contain lead; containment will be required.
The contractor will then apply a spot coat of acrylic primer, followed by a full prime coat of high-solids epoxy, and intermediate and finish coats of high-performance acrylic paint. Interior tank surfaces will require a controlled chlorine disinfection, to be determined by the contractor.
During cleaning, the contractor will be required to perform miscellaneous welding repairs to the tank’s appurtenances. The air vent screen will also require replacement.
The contract will also include a one-year inspection of the coating systems.
