The contractor will oversee surface preparation, cleaning, and painting of exterior exposed structural steel and other metal surfaces.
Work includes hand, power-tool or solvent cleaning of the tank roof; sides; bottom; perimeter and lower catwalks; standpipes; and upper tank ladder. Following that, an alkyd aluminum system will be used where existing paint is in sound condition. In rusted areas, a direct-to-metal industrial enamel primer and an alkyd aluminum finish coat will be used.
The tank’s base plates will require hand cleaning before application of a four-coat epoxy system with sealer, filler and two finish coatings.
Work will also include application of logos with a gloss finish coating. The contractor will design a triangle or leaf logo to replace the existing yellow “TRACY” lettering.
