KS Wastewater Plant Project Out for Bid

The City of Lawrence is seeking contractors interested in the cleaning and recoating of surfaces at an existing wastewater treatment plant located in Lawrence, KS.

Bids are due July 26 from contractors interested in undertaking the  cleaning and recoating of surfaces at an existing wastewater treatment plant in Lawrence, KS.

Work will involve cleaning and recoating interior walls, flooring, stairs, piping, walkways and miscellaneous equipment surfaces of the influent building and bio solids pump system, as well as the walkway between aeration basins.

Bids are due July 26.

Scope of Work

Contractors will oversee hand or power tool cleaning of all surfaces to remove loose paint, rust and mill scale prior to coating application.

Concrete walls, pump bases and ceiling surfaces will receive a prime coat of waterborne modified polyamine epoxy and waterborne acrylic two-component epoxy intermediate and finish coats.

Concrete floors will receive two coats of polyamidoamine epoxy finish.

Support beams, piping and hanger rods, pumps, and motors will receive a prime coat of modified polyamidoamine epoxy and a cycloaliphatic amine epoxy finish coat.

The walkway over the aeration basin will require a four-coat urethane deck coating system.

The owner has specified that coatings be supplied by Tnemec or Sherwin-Williams and will not permit substitutes.
