SUMMARY
Sandblaster/Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces for coating, maintaining sandblasting and spray painting equipment, mixing, blending, and application of coatings by spray, brush or roller, and preparing equipment for shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate with Shop Supervisor to plan and administrate general assignments
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sandblasting, mechanical cleaning, and pressure washing
- Mix and apply paint, resins, epoxies, and appropriate identification labels, using brush, roller, or spray equipment to surfaces and equipment associated with natural gas compressors and pumps.
- Mask and tape areas surrounding surfaces to be painted
- Store, use, and dispose of paints, solvents and other hazardous materials used in the work
- Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, sprayers and other related equipment.
- Read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and safety and operation instructions.
- Operate forklift to move components to various shops for sandblasting or coating ESSENTIAL

$40.00 a day per-diem w/ paid travel time to the job site. Transportation provided and room covered as well.
