Due to recent growth Koch Pipeline Company has Pipeline Inspector positions available in Corpus Christi, Tx and Port Arthur, Tx. Pipeline Inspector responsibilities will be: - Responsible for the inspection of construction and maintenance projects according to Koch Pipeline's Technical Guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Responsible for adhering to safety guidelines and standards and for following safety rules and regulations to promote a positive safety culture.
- Responsible for adhering to environmental standards and for environmental awareness.
- Responsible for cost control of projects in area of responsibility.
- Expected to make responsible decisions in the field for the required work to be accomplished.
- Ensure no leaks, spills or releases.
Required: - 3+ years experience working as a Pipeline Welding Inspector using API 1104 guidelines.
- 3+ years experience in Pipeline Rehabilitation work including pipe defect evaluation and remaining strength calculation.
- 3+ years experience in pipeline repair methods.
- Computer knowledge - specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be willing to work away from home up to 95% of the time.(including Nights, Weekends, and Holidays)
- Must be willing to relocate within 50 minutes of the assests
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred: - 2+ years experience working as an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector to API 1104.
- NACE certification for inspecting and applying industrial coatings & linings
- API 653 Certification and experience with tank construction projects
- 50% of inspection experience with liquid petroleum pipeline inspection
- Familiarity with pipe fabricating practices
- Familiarity and working knowledge of OSHA confined space requirements
- Familiarity and working knowledge of 4 gas air monitoring and benzene monitoring equipment
- API 653 Certified Inspector
- 2 Year Vocational Technical (Mechanical or Welding) degree 4 year Construction Science Degree
Other Considerations: - Must be able to wear PPE in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire retardant clothing, heeled safety-toed boots, etc.).
- Role requires individual to climb in and out of bell holes, enter manways, climb storage tanks greater than 40' in height and walk in rough terrain.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold or inclement climate conditions (outdoor conditions) approximately 90% of the time.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response.
- Position requires the ability to wear respirator and to pass a respirator fit test.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical.
