Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Duties:
•Promote safe working environment, investigate environmental and operational hazards.
•Lead resource for surface preparation and coatings within the company.
•Assist in the evaluation, justification and installation of new surface preparation, painting/coatings technologies/processes throughout the company as well as works to redesign existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers.
•Support company with troubleshooting and improvement of production processes, procedures and standard work.
•Work with surface preparation, paint/coating and equipment vendors to provide input driving to quality improvements and cost reductions.
•Provide engineering oversight for application, ensuring project adherence to company/client expectations for Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Environment, Health & Safety, data management and regulatory compliance.
•Work directly with internal customers to ensure that all surface preparation and paint/coatings requirements are met.
•Develop paint and blast specifications and ensure all documentation is preserved in accordance with internal document control systems.
•Perform continuous improvement activity to support surface preparation and coatings operation
•Travel between plants and for other purposes will be required
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Chemical Engineering or
•Minimum of 4-5 years of proven industry experience with liquid paint systems and blast systems
•Paint testing background for quality assurance required.
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Considerable knowledge with state and federal guidelines for paint.
