Industry leading, sensor based industrial instrumentation developer and manufacturer has immediate need for Product Development Engineer with 3 plus years’ experience. Will be responsible investigating and analyzing options for proposed new products. Generate and develop ideas for new and existing products and applications. Work with customers, vendors, and engineering on costs of development projects and estimated product costs and pricing. Work directly and with other engineering staff to develop product specifications. Develop connections with applicable engineering societies and groups related to the company’s products. Work with product management, customers, sales, project engineering, marketing, service group, engineering and manufacturing in the investigation and analysis of proposed new products and services. Investigate and analyze options for new products and projects as allocated from the Engineering Projects List and report back to management for review. Check costs and feasibility of proposed projects as required. Assist in analysis of current product range, its evolution and possible new products and product areas. Work with manufacturing, vendors, engineering and test laboratories where required to evaluate product performance and reliability. Prepare project specifications and development plans, in preparation for detailed design. Work on detailed design alone or in conjunction with other engineering staff according to project requirements and engineering disciplines required. Take an active part in engineering societies applicable to company products such as NACE. Assist customer service with project quotations, project applications, and project engineering as required.
