JOB SUMMARY:

Provide entry level support for the Technical Services or Corrosion Engineering Group. Technical Services is responsible for the quality assurance program, operating and maintenance procedures and construction specifications, regulatory interactions and research and development. Corrosion Engineering is responsible for the corrosion control program, cathodic protection of steel pipelines and the Pipeline Integrity Management program. Specific responsibilities and tasks will be assigned at the discretion of his/her supervisor.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. May support corrosion control inspection and monitoring programs by assisting with data management and evaluation activities within the group.
  2. May support engineers with the collection and evaluation of pipeline data including defect assessments, remaining pipeline strength, stress, operational or physical field data.
  3. May support the NYSEG and RG&E; Pipeline Integrity Management Program by assisting with data management and evaluation activities within the group
  4. May assist in performing tests, gathering information, reviewing field work, surveying pipeline right of ways, contacting customers, working handheld data collection units, and/or assisting in report writing.
  5. May assist in preparation and review of Operating and Maintenance procedures and/or gas construction specifications.
  6. May assist in quality assurance audit activities of other areas in the company.
  7. Perform routine administrative duties.
