Industrial Water Treatment Lab Manager
Laboratory Manager (lM) will setup and manage the newly built Industrial Water Treatment Application laboratory. Together with a technician to start with, LM will run the projects that aim to develop chemical solutions for process, cooling and steam generation applications. LM will be in close contact with the central polymer research groups in Europe and North America and will provide the application know-how and generate the application test results for the new technology developed. LM will also support joint development activities with key accounts. He/She will be the regional focus point of the innovation organization and will be in contact with the regional
North America water treatment team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Head-up the industrial WT application research laboratory and keeping within budget Organize the work routine in the laboratory and coordinate the work in the polymer research teams or associated internal or extemal project team
- Install new application testing capabilities and methods in North America that allow to assess the performance of new chemicals applied in industrial processes
- Monitors, assesses and documents progress and the reaching of milestones; may coordinate the transfer of results to the technical center, production and other units.
- Management joint collaboration project related to industry in cooperation with marketing, sales and key account managers
- Defines, initiates and heads market-/customer-focused projects and product developments.
- Establishing and extending contacts with operational units and scientific partners. Active development of own knowledge. Transferring knowledge to all levels.
- Observes and assesses market trends and competitors' activities (products I patents I literature) for the industrial water management activities
- Gives recommendations for new products / projects / applications as part of the innovation chain process in consultation with the appropriate project teams.
Leading the employees reporting to him/her With regard to technical matters.
- Responsible for compliance with the labor, safety and environmental regulations within his/her area of work. Initiates hazard evaluations and gets action underway.
- Accepting, maintaining, extending and passinq on existing and newly acquired knowledge with the new business
development and sales team
- Ensures that the technical and business requirements and the legal requirements relating to patents and chemicals are calrified.for' projects.and product developments.
Company offers a base salary of 110-130K, bonus opportunities, 401K, excellent benefits package.
