Responsibilities

• Performs all types of industrial painting work and surface preparation.
• Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary.
• Mixes, and blends various paints, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and special protective coatings for specified consistency, and drying properties.
• Erects and uses ladders, scaffolding, and swinging stage equipment as required. Paints buildings, structures, equipment, and piping using brush, spray gun or other applicator.
• Cleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites.
• Assists in a variety of maintenance and repair work on equipment including paint pumps, blast equipment, air compressors, generators, and the like.
• Assists in performing preventative maintenance on blasting equipment, spray equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Bends/stoops/reaches and lifts/carries heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds; twists torso 45o to 90o to perform essential functions; ability to climb staircases; works in confined spaces; climbs ladders and onto scaffolding; works in inclement weather and a variety of situations. May be assigned to wear a respirator and/or self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as needed.
• Appropriately fills out hourly time sheets

• Performs related duties as needed or assigned.
