Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels. We operate 400+ retail stores, sell through over 2,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's.
We are seeking talented people for a Technical Service Representative position within the Architectural Coatings business unit, located at the McCandless Customer Support Center North of downtown Pittsburgh.
The incumbent is responsible for resolving inquiries by providing accurate technical information and support which may include site visits for the Pittsburgh Paints, Porter Paints, Spectratone, Iowa, Olympic Paints and Stains and Keeler & Long brands. Work with a variety of Architectural customer types (Sales & Service, Independent Dealers, Company owned stores, Contractors, and Consumers) to meet critical timelines for follow-through. The incumbent will be responsible for answering questions on the technical service 800 hotline which operates from 7 am to 8 pm EST and handles approximately 180,000 calls annually. The nature of the calls range from requests for information about product performance, color formulas, print information, and problem resolution. In cases of resolution of problems and complaints, it is the responsibility of technical service to negotiate a cost effective settlement. Technical Service is also responsible for developing and delivering product training to independent paint dealers, company-owned store personnel and national account customers.
