The high-performance coatings division of a Fortune 150 Company has an opening for a Market Development Manager for its Pipe Coating segment. Location is flexible, but the preferred candidate will be located in the Southeast, South Central, Rocky Mountain or West Coast region. This position has the responsibility for identifying, qualifying, pursing and developing new business opportunities with the objective increasing the sales volume in the Pipe segment. Activities include identifying long term projects, developing customer relationships, analyzing applications, making product recommendations, on-site inspecting and obtaining specification approvals. 40%-70% travel. Territory covered includes the United States as well as some international destinations. This position requires good organizational, mathematical and communication skills, computer literacy, professionalism and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. The ability to formalize and conduct training programs is also required. Interaction with all degrees of customers is essential. Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of industrial coating sales experience and preferably a college degree in a related field. NACE or SSPC certification preferred.
