Carboline Company, a world leading supplier of high performance coatings, linings and fireproofing, is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated individual to fill an immediate opening for a Rail Field Technical Service representative for Houston, TX.
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 year college Chemistry or a minimum 5 years of Field Technical Service experience or have worked within the high performance coatings industry. NACE Level 3 certification is preferred.
Key responsibilities: Technician travels to specific rail car shops within a given geography, providing their expertise and knowledge of Carboline coating systems. Instructs and trains the shop personnel on proper surface preparation, mixing, thinning, application, inspection and curing of the specific coating. The technician performs inspections of newly coated rail cars, inspects in service rail cars and provides detailed reports to Carboline management. The technician promotes all Carboline products. Provide thorough and comprehensive reports relating to job start-up and inspections, etc. Overnight travel can be up to 50% of the time. Technician is expected to have very good communication skills when dealing with all customers. Provide technical support during pre-job meetings. Assist in application of new or revised product evaluations, new equipment evaluations.
