C.S. 532) of the General Construction contractors by the Department of General Services, Bureau of Professional Selections and Administrative Services, 18th & Herr Streets, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17125. Only contractors receiving pre-qualification status will be able to submit a comprehensive sealed bid (i.e., low bid) in accordance with the future Notice to Bidders for Project No. DGS 975-7 Phase 1. ALL DOCUMENTS RELATIVE TO THE PROJECT WILL BE POSTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES, CONSTRUCTION AND PUBLIC WORKS, APPLICATION FOR QUALIFICATION WEBPAGE ONLY, (I.E. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This Project consists of interior and exterior restoration work at Cornwall Iron Furnace, a National Historic Landmark administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as a public historic site. Contractors submitting an application should have relevant experience in historic restoration. Work generally falls into three categories, as follows: A. Selective exterior restoration work at the Wagon Shed, Charcoal House (Visitor Center), and Furnace Building, including exterior architectural woodwork, exterior ornamental metals restoration, slate roofing repairs, flashing repairs, gutters and downspouts, and exterior painting. B. Exterior site work, including rebuilding of a stone and concrete retaining wall, installation of a new trench drain, and limited site grading and restoration. C. Interior and exterior restoration of the stone and brick furnace stack, including microabrasive cleaning of the sandstone masonry and iron reinforcing members, repointing of the stone and brick masonry, spot brick replacement, restoration and refinishing of the iron reinforcing members, and installation of a vapor barrier at the sand floor of the Casting House.
