The City of Palm Bay, FL, is seeking bids for a job at a deep injection well pump station which includes cleaning and painting piping and a hydro pneumatic tank.

Bids are due Sept. 27 for the North Regional Deep Injection Well Pump project.
Scope of Work
Work will include replacing outdated components of an existing deep injection well pump station located on Clearmont Street. Work will also include cleaning and painting of the existing DIW ductile iron piping and hydro-pneumatic tank.
Metal submerged in non-potable water will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near White (SSPC-SP 10) finish and coated with a four-coat polyamide coal-tar epoxy system.
Interior and exterior non-submerged metal surfaces will be cleaned and coated with a hi-build epoxy and polyurethane system. The owner-specified coating manufacturers include Sherwin-Williams, Carboline, Tnemec, Benjamin-Moore, and PPG, or an approved equal.
The contractor should hand-tool clean all surface to SSPC-SP 2 standards and, where welding is required, steel surfaces should be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Bare Metal finish (SSPC-SP 11).
Cementitious surfaces of concrete, concrete block, cement plaster and cement-asbestos board will be cleaned to SSPC-SP 13 concrete cleaning standards prior to any coating application.
Ferrous metal that has been shop primed and requires touch-up cleaning in the field will require power tool cleaning to SSPC-SP 3 standards, followed by touch-up application of the same type of shop primer.
Concealed aluminum surfaces will require one coat of bituminous paint where in contact with cementitious or dissimilar materials, and carbon steel items should be painted with a single coat of primer.
