Ebenal General, Inc. of Bellingham, WA, was awarded a contract of $2,487,566.20 by the City of Kirkland, WA, to rehabilitate a 14.4 MG steel water storage tank. The project includes cleaning and coating the interior and exterior surfaces of the 154-foot-diameter by 104-foot-high tank. The interior steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and lined with a zinc-rich urethane primer, an epoxy intermediate, and an epoxy finish. The exterior steel will be spot-power-tool-cleaned to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 11), spot-primed with zinc-rich urethane, and coated with an epoxy intermediate and a polyurethane finish.
