Royal Bridge, Inc. of Tarpon Springs, FL, was awarded a contract of $11,728,000 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, to rehabilitate fourteen tainter gates at Murray Lock and Dam No. 7 on the Arkansas River. The project includes abrasive blast-cleaning and recoating the gates, walkway bridge supports, and other structural steel surfaces with various vinyl, aluminum, and coal-tar systems. The contract, which required SSPC-QP 1 and QP 2 certification, includes containment of the existing lead-bearing coatings.
