Royal Bridge, Inc. of Tarpon Springs, FL, was awarded an ARRA-funded contract of $11,117,500 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, to rehabilitate sixteen tainter gates at Toad Suck Ferry Lock and Dam on the Arkansas River. The contract, which requires SSPC-QP 1 and QP 2 certification, includes coating the tainter gates with a vinyl system, coating walkway bridge and machinery platform surfaces with an aluminum system, and coating hitch block assemblies with a coal-tar epoxy system. The project includes erecting a Class 2 containment system (SSPC-Guide 6) to control the emission of the existing lead-bearing coatings.
