Hartman-Walsh Wins Dam Coating Contract

Hartman-Walsh Painting Company of St. Louis, MO, secured a contract of $11,935,249 from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, to rehabilitate and recoat tainter gates at the Fort Gibson Dam on the Grand (Neosha) River in Oklahoma. The gates, as well as related tieback beams and trunnion arms, will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a White Metal finish (SSPC-SP 5) and coated with a vinyl system. The project also includes treating pack rust on hoist platform surfaces and applying a protective coating on concrete pier landing surfaces. The contract includes containment of the existing lead-bearing coatings.
