The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will accept sealed bids on March 26th, 2010, for coatings application and miscellaneous repairs on the 10-span, 632-foot-long steel girder approach to the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge, an historic 5,746.5-foot-long cantilever truss bridge that connects Louisville, KY and Jeffersonville, IN over the Ohio River.
The steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and coated with an organic zinc primer, an epoxy or moisture-cured urethane intermediate, and an aliphatic polyurethane finish. The contract includes erecting Class 2A containment (SSPC-Guide 6) and performing quality control inspection services.
