City of Seattle Bidding Ballard Bridge Approach Painting

The City of Seattle will accept sealed bids on May 5th for coatings application on the North and South approaches of the Ballard Bridge, a 2,854 foot-long double-leaf bascule bridge over Salmon Bay. The project includes recoating approximately 1,423 tons of structural steel and 6,300 linear feet of railings. The contract includes containment of lead-bearing coatings. The steel will be pressure-washed at 3,500-5,000 psi, spot cleaned by abrasive blast (SSPC-SP 6) or power-tools (SSPC-SP 11), spot-primed, and coated with a moisture-cured urethane system.
