The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, awarded a contract of $612,000 to Ostrom Painting and Sandblasting, Inc. of Rock Island, IL, to repair and recoat various equipment at the Smithville Dam, a 4,000-foot-long structure located on Smithville Lake in Missouri. The project includes abrasive blast surface preparation, lead-based paint abatement, and vinyl coating application on emergency and low flow gates, hydraulic cylinders, bonnet covers, and stop logs. The contract requires SSPC-QP 1 and QP 2 certifications.
