The National Park Service will accept sealed bids on September 14th, 2010, for lead abatement and painting on two sides of the historic U.S. Army Air Corps Hangar at the Pearson Air Museum in Vancouver, WA. The Museum, which is owned by the Park Service but managed by the City of Vancouver and the Fort Vancouver National Trust, includes a single-story, 5,250-square-foot, timber-framed, clapboarded hangar, which was built in 1918 and moved to the current site in 1924.
The project, which has an estimated value of less than $25,000, involves removing lead-based paint from two sides of the hangar, followed by application of an owner-furnished latex paint system. Bidding on the contract is restricted to Emerging Small Business sources.
