Riley Industrial Services Inc., of Farmington, NM, has been awarded a $280,390 contract to perform tank rehabilitation and coating work at the City of Lubbock (TX) Water Treatment Plant.
This project involves cleaning and recoating the exterior surfaces of an existing 6 MG steel ground-level water storage tank that is 211 feet in diameter.
The steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to SSPC-SP 6 (Commercial); tested for iron, chloride and sulfate contaminants with remediation (pressure-washing) as needed; and coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer, a polyurethane intermediate, and a fluoropolymer finish.
Twenty-five bids, ranging up to $524,000, were submitted for the project. Reported by Paint BidTracker, a construction reporting service devoted to identifying contracting opportunities for the coatings community.
