The City of Burbank, CA, will accept bids Nov. 10 for coating and related work on the Magnolia Power Project (MPP), which opened in 2005.
The project involves cleaning and coating existing metal surfaces at the facility, a 310 MW-peak-capacity power plant that was built in 2005.

The work includes coating the entire exterior surfaces of these structures:
• 150-foot-high combustion turbine exhaust stack;
• Combustion turbine transition ducting;
• Ammonia blower skid and frame surfaces;
• Piping;
• Three circulating pumps;
• Two de-carbonator blower inlet filter housings;
• Storage shed frame surfaces; and
• Turbine and gas compressor building inlet vents.
The metals will be coated with various inorganic zinc, epoxy, silicone, and polyurethane or polysiloxane systems.
The Magnolia Plant, located in Burbank and owned by Glendale Water & Power, complements the Grayson Power Plant.
