Extreme Coatings Inc., of Pasco, WA, will perform the cleaning and coating of the McNary Top Spillway Weir in Walla Walla, WA.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $186,754 contract to the company, also known as ECI Services, for shop coating of the two weir structures.

Scope of Work

The project consists of painting two Top Spillway Weir (TSW) structures. The steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to SSPC-SP 5 (white metal) and coated with a vinyl system.

The government will provide hoisting of the structures between the McNary Lock and Dam spillway deck and a contractor vehicle for on-loading at the beginning of the contract and off-loading at the end.

The contactor will provide for transportation of the structures, including vehicle, cribbing and securing the load. The contractor will also replace all fasteners on the TSW structure with stainless steel fasteners.

About the Contractor

Extreme Coatings has more than 18 years of experience in industrial painting and rehabilitation of concrete and steel structures for industrial facilities. Its projects include dams, steel and concrete storage tanks, piping, water and wastewater treatment plants, agricultural and food processing facilities, and energy plants.

The company also provides general construction, industrial vacuum, hydro excavation and environmental services.

I hope the stainless steel fasteners will be kept electrically isolated...
