The City of Midland, Mich., has invited bids for a wood re-staining project at the city’s Plymouth Park “Fun Zone.”
Bids are due April 10. The city has scheduled a mandatory pre-bid conference for March 27.
The Fun Zone is located within the 40-acre park, which also features picnic areas, a pool, a soccer field and basketball courts, according to Michigan’s official travel and tourism site.
The project includes pressure washing the children’s play structure with a minimum of 2,000 psi, and applying a semi-transparent stain to the unpainted elements, as well as staining benches, fences and associated toys.
Painted decorative accents on the structure are not to be stained, according to the project documents.
Application methods include brush, roller or airless spray; however, the city said the stain must be “back brushed” into the surface to ensure proper penetration.
The city said the Fun Zone will be closed for the duration of the project, not to exceed seven consecutive days. All work must be completed by May 15.
