Bids are due May 3. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site walkthrough is scheduled for April 19.
The University of Washington National Primate Research Center’s mission is to provide an “appropriate environment to support biomedical research directed toward significant human health issues and nonhuman primate health and biology,” according to the center’s website.
The center is one of eight National Primate Research Centers in the U.S.
Scientists conduct nonhuman primate research in many areas, including evolutionary emergence of infectious diseases, neuroscience, AIDS-related diseases and others, the website said.
The project
The project involves shot blast-cleaning and coating a total of approximately 19,391 square feet of existing floor surfaces in 33 rooms at the facility.
The project documents specify that a 100% reactive acrylic resin full-flake coating system with an antimicrobial additive is to be used on the flooring.
The owner said the contractor must be a BASF-certified installer/applicator.
Reported by Paint BidTracker, a construction reporting service devoted to identifying contracting opportunities for the coatings community.
