The 200-acre treatment plant is part of a wastewater system that serves more than 136,000 people, conveying sewage through some 345 miles of sewer mains, interceptors, laterals, and 29 lift stations.
The goal of the recoating project is to renew the coatings and provide a uniform new exterior color scheme to the structures.
Bids are due July 17.
Scope of Work
The project involves recoating exterior surfaces of a variety of structures at the plant, including:
• Two concrete trickling filter tanks, 85 feet in diameter and 27 feet high;
• Two secondary clarifiers,105 feet in diameter and four feet high;
• Aerated sludge basins;
• Pump wells; and
• Flow control structures.
The project also includes repainting of ductwork and other metal and concrete surfaces. The structures will be pressure-washed three times: once with detergent, once with bleach solution, and once with a soluble salt remover. The structures will then be coated with acrylic and acrylic urethane systems.
