The contractor will prepare the surface by power washing; repair any rusted metal roof and around lead stacks; and apply a layer of elastomeric flashing cement on all horizontal head-lap joints, vertical seams, vents, and curbs. This will be followed by an appropriate primer followed by two coats of elastomeric coating.
In addition, the exposed fasteners on the roof will be caulked over with a “Hershey kiss” to ensure a watertight roof when the metal thermally expands and contracts.
