The City of Bartlett, TN, is seeking maintenance and inspection services for 10 steel tanks in the city’s water system over the course of 10 years.
Services will be awarded annually. Bids are due on May 30; prices for the entire 10-year scope of work will be accepted at that time.
The contract will be awarded for one year and may be renewed annually up to nine times.
Scope of Work
The one ground-level and nine elevated tanks range in size from 50,000 gallons to 750,000 gallons. All will all require interior and exterior cleaning and coating application.
The interior wet surfaces of all tanks will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near-White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and lined with a zinc primer and a two-coat epoxy system.

The contract involves coating and maintenance on 10 water tanks over 10 years.

The interior dry surfaces of the tanks will be spot-brush-off abrasive blast-cleaned to SSPC-SP 7, abrasive blast-cleaned to a Commercial finish (SP 6), and coated with a spot epoxy primer and finish.
The exteriors of seven tanks will be spot-brush-off abrasive blast-cleaned to SSPC-SP 7, abrasive blast-cleaned to a Commercial finish (SP 6), and coated with an acrylic-urethane system, including logo application.
The exteriors of two tanks will be pressure-washed, spot-power tool-cleaned (SP 11), and overcoated with an acrylic polymer. That work will include logo application.
The exterior of the remaining tank will be spot cleaned to SSPC-SP 7, abrasive blast cleaned to a Commercial finish (SSPC-SP 6), and coated with a silicone alkyd system.

Once a lone stagecoach town in the 1830s, the City of Bartlett is now Tennessee’s 10th-largest city with a population of just over 54,000.
