Photo Contest rules

Term

Paint BidTracker's 10th Anniversary Photo Contest begins September 10th, 2012 and ends November 1st, at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are 18 years old or older.

Who may enter

All photographers 18 years old or older may enter the contest once they have registered with PaintBidTracker.com. It is free to enter the contest and entrants need not be Paint BidTracker subscribers.

What to enter

Photos should be of painted industrial or commercial structures and have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Photographs must have been shot by the entrant since January 1, 2011. Cropped photos are eligible. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers (except online) are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

How to enter

Please submit photographs online through our Project Showcase at paintbidtracker/showcase to be considered for the contest. Any relevant photograph uploaded to our project showcase during the contest term will be considered. If you do not wish for your uploaded photos to be considered in the contest, please email Julie Birch to be removed from the running. We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail or by email. There is no limit to how many photos you submit to the contest, though only one photograph will be chosen as the grand prize winner. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format.

Paint BidTracker reserves the right to disqualify incomplete entries and/or contestants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches or an original photo negative, print or slide.

By entering the contest, entrants grant Paint BidTracker/Technology Publishing Co. a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, and all other standard Paint BidTracker/Technology Publishing purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Paint BidTracker/Technology Publishing Co. will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

Entry deadline

All entries must be received through the paintbidtracker.com/showcase by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on November 1st, 2012.

Judging

Judging of the 1st round of the contest will be conducted by the Paint BidTracker staff and editors of JPCL. Finalists will be chosen and featured in the November issue of JPCL. The 2nd round of the contest will be judged based on popular vote, collected on paintbidtracker.com/showcase. The winning photograph will be announced on PaintBidTracker.com and featured in JPCL.

The 10 finalists will be notified of their status by November 20th, 2012. After the finalists have been notified, voting for round 2 of the contest will begin at paintbidtracker/showcase. The grand prize winner will be notified by December 20th 2012. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Paint BidTracker reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. All decisions will be final.

Prize Details

Finalists will be selected from the posted entries by a panel of judges. Paint BidTracker will notify the finalists by November 20, 2012. From these finalists, (1) grand prize winner will be chosen by popular vote on Paintbidtracker.com/showcase.
